The Hellflowers "Wild Ones" Is A Definite Rocker With A Message

This is just a taste of what's to come on the forthcoming album, titled "Haunted," due out in February of 2027. This track is what I call a message song with real power behind it. By today's standards, we don't often get message songs that truly stand out. The message here is clear: as a woman, be who you want to be, don't let anyone control you, and don't take any shit from anyone trying to tell you who to be. This track has sounds reminiscent of Debbie Harry's Blondie, The Bangles, and Belinda Carlisle's Go-Go's. It feels like the new wave era of the eighties and nineties is back, led by Christina Eskew with the rest of the band backing her up seamlessly. I am hoping this one gets on mainstream radio, as it is time for some message-driven songs to be heard. Mainstream radio stations are getting boring and watered down with repetitive songs about partying, drinking, and sexual desire. It is time for some real music that has meaning behind it, not the constant, dull drivel we have been hearing for quite some time. We don't need songs like, for instance, Taylor Swift's "Wood"—a song about her husband's anatomy. Let's be real: that is on a need-to-know basis, and Taylor, quite honestly, we don't need to know. It is time to hear about women taking control and regaining power over themselves without taking anything from anyone. Keep bringing these types of message songs out, Hellflowers. We need more of them rather than the garbage that is currently out there. Be on the lookout for this one, due out on September 1, 2026. You will not be disappointed, and you won't want to miss out on the great music ahead from The Hellflowers.
