What's coming up this week..... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Everyone, We are officially back on the air this friday night from 10-11:30 p.m. on www.bostonfreeradio.com I am very greatful and humble to be back on Boston Free Radio and I want to personally thank the station manager Heather McCormack and the executive director Brian Zipp, it feels great to be back on a well known station that has such a diverse choice of programming for everyone, and and this is why we are happy to be back on the station that gave us our start, thanks to everyone including Brian and Heather at Boston Free Radio/Sommerville Community Access Television for welcoming us back with open arms. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One of our Guests this week is Bryan Bassett from the band Foghat he's been with the band for 20 years and he and the band will be coming to the Paradise Rock Club in Bostob, Massachusetts on August 16th. We also have Rodney Justo of the Atlanta Rhythm Section the band will be coming to the South Shore Music tent in Cohasset, Massachusetts on Saturday August 17th, you'll get to hear Rodney talk to us about what you can expect on the 17th, along with their special guests Pure Prarie League, and Poco. Atlanta Rhythmn Section will also be coming to Western Massachusetts in September to The Eastern States a.k.a. The Big E and they will be playing two shows within two days there on September 22nd & 23rd at 3:00 p.m. each day. As I said you'll hear Rodney talk about the band and his days of working with Roy Orbison and Billy Joe Royal as well. Our third guest is Grammy nominated group American Nomads from the Brooklyn & Woodstock, New York area and they will be playing on August 16th at the Bethelwoods Theater which is built on the exact spot of where the original Woodstock in 1969 took place and the band has a new single out called "1969" in honor of the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, they will be playing on the outdoor stage before the headline act goes on the big stage which on that first night of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock weekend will be Ringo Starr and His All Star Band that night . If you like what you hear in this track below make the journey/trip out to Bethel, New York on Friday August 16th, you won't be disappointed, if you're planning to do the whole weekend of shows the schedule is as follows: Friday August 16th Ringo Starr and his All Star Band Saturday August 17th Santana & The Doobie Brothers Sunday August 18th John Fogerty Now it's not as big as Woodstock 50 was supposed to be, but you do have two Woodstock'69 Alumni there that weekend, as for Ringo well from my understanding The Beatles were always invited to play festivals like Woodstock and Monterey, but they chose not to as they were tired of touring which is why they stopped in 1966, plus they couldn't reproduce that sound you heard on Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and albums going forward after that period at the particular time. He sadly passed away on August 1st at the age of 94 and he had just celebrated his birthday on July 15th, he worked with a lot of legendary artists including David Bowie, and Depeche Mode to name a few, He will be missed, but he left quite a legacy of film documentries for us and the generations to come and watch R.I.P.
