Meta-Bank/Netspend Credit Card Commits Fraud & Takes Advantage Of Disabled Blind/Diabetic Card Holder
That's right folks meta-bank/netsend credit card company takes advantage of a 44 year old blind/diabetic male card holder of their card. The cardholder get his social security benefits deposited monthly to their card so that he can get his benefits a few days earlier than he would getting them deposited to his normal bank account. Recently the holder lost his wallet and all his information, but inside his wallet he has a business card with all of his basic information like e-mail address, home address, and phone number basic information like that in hopes that if it was ever to get lost or stolen and someone found any of the enclosed items like credit cards, state i.d. etc etc that someone would have the courtesy to return the wallet, instead whomever picked up the wallet decided to check the balance on the card heard the balance and went online to western union to send themselves almost the full amount of money that had been just deposited on the card, picked up the money at the local western union pick up in a store near where the customer of the card had lived as he lost the wallet in his local neighborhood, and whomever picked it up at the store obviously did not check the ID of the person picking up the money how that all worked is beyond this writer, just goes to show you that all you have to do is know people in places and you can get what you want and no penalties whatsoever are done to the criminal in this case, but the person is
out all that money, luckily the cardholder customer has a regular bank account that he keeps extra money in but that money deposited to the netspend card is used to pay his rent, electric, cable and other bills as well.
The customer filed a claim on his card as soon as he realized he lost it, he got a replacement card where he originally got charged a $9.95 charge to just get a replacement card cause it was lost/stolen, once the claim was put into the dispute department he was told it would take ten business days to get a answer on the outcome, after the ten days the outcome came back as there was no errors made on the account and the customer got his $9.95 fee for the replacement card back, which to this writer says that they found fault and errors cause why would you return the card fee if the customer was lying or at fault, what netspend does is creates a few different types of scams to think you can get money with their card first scam is refer a friend and get $20 for the referral but the catch is the friend has to get their pay check direct deposited on to their card for 90 days if they do you get your what I call a finder's fee of $20 and the friend also gets $20 as well. The second scam they run is they send out e-mails to their customers saying enter their contest and win a double payday meaning if your name is drawn you will get your paycheck doubled and they say they'll tell everyone who the winner is, it never happens it's a come on to get you to believe you have a chance at winning something you're not going to win, for a credit card company they also have many fees for using their card it's your money you're losing for instance everytime you go to pay at the register with your card and use it as a credit card you get charged a $1 fee on top of your transaction you're already paying for, if you use it as a debit card cause you have to create a pin number for the card you get charged $2 on top of your transaction you're again paying for, if you go to withdraw your benefits off the card at the bank you get charged $3 so let's say you get $500 paycheck put on to your card well you can't withdraw the full amount no no you have to minus $3 off that amount and that's what you can take if you don't have enough on your card and you miscalculated it's too bad for you not only can the bank not do the transaction again for a lesser amount you just lost that $3 for the attempt and you don't get it back and if you take money off your card at a cash register like let's say your total for your transaction is $22.93 and you want $25.00 cash back on top of that now your total is for the origianl amount of the transaction $24.93 cause there's that $2 fee for using the card as a debit now you want that $25 cash back well that is another fee of $2.50 so now you're out $4.50 for fees on making the purchase and getting cash back and here's the funny thing no where in their paperwork when you apply for this card does it say that there are fees for using their card even though it's your money , it would be more understandable if it was a credit card where you had to pay your monthly bill after using it but this is just like a bank debit card and I don't know of any banks that nickel and dime you for every transaction you make as I said in my example transaction you're out $4.50 just for one simple transaction of $47.93 and you lose money each time you make a purchase using the card it's a great way if you're getting social security benefits like this person i've been speaking of in this article because you just go to a bank once your funds are in on your card and lose $3, but now here comes the new twist some bank branches are not accepting the netspend card to do the cash advances as this particular cardholder was told due to scams and fraud with the netspend card so for instance if you are a citizen's bank financial member and do all of your banking there you are no longer able to get a cash advance off your netspend card as let's think about this if netspend/meta-bank is charging you all of these fees for using their card just think what they are charging your financial institution so yes your bank might be one of many financial institutions that won't accept your netspend card anymore do to their scams and whatnot, so then where do you go to get cash off your netspend card?.......you either have to go to one of those
convienent store machines that charges you a fee automatically for using their machine plus whatever fee your card charges you for not using the bank the money comes off of as well so you could be out anywheres from $3-$10 before your money you want to withdrawl from the card I now realize why our grandparents didn't believe in banks or credit cards of any type because either way you look at it they are taking your money more bank/credit cards like this than banks, at least with a bank they tell you up front that they will charge you for not having a certain amount in your account or overdraft fees those fees are acceptable for the typical bank customer but these fees are not because it is your money you are using it's not borrowed money off of a credit card like a capitol one or discover card if you use the money on those cards you're expected to pay it back with the netspend card you're not expected to pay it back because it's your hard earned money going on tot he card not theirs . I will now reveal the card holder you've been reading about that person is this writer here and netspend/.meta-bank is going to get blasted all over the newsmedia for scamming people like they are doing. Please be careful if you have their card or any card that's affiliated with the meta-bank financial institution of any sorts they are nothing but scammers and are trying to steal their customers money as they've done to me.
What I am in the process of doing is seeing as i've given them multiple chances to refund the monies back to the card like they should do, i've now drafted an MGL 93a letter to them now for folks that don't know what that is it's a letter for deceptive business acts if you feel a deceptive business act has been performed on you wheather it's a bad job done at the auto garage, or you didn't get what
you were expecting done at any business in massachusetts this is a letter you can write to the company and tell them what has happened and how much money you're out and they have 30 days to fix the problem, if they don't you can then proceed to file in court against them for the amount of money you're out and if the judge finds in your favor and most of the time they do you then can be awarded up to triple the damages you went after them for plus court fees lawyer fees etc etc, you can find more information out on mgl93a letters on any search engine you use to do your internet searches, i'm then next going to the news media meaning television and printed news media in general, the better business bureau and lastly the attorney general's office also not to mention I also have a podcast/radio show that I can also voice my opinion out on as well and the company can not do anything about any of these as they brought it upon themselves for not just doing the proper thing in business etiquitte. Generally most companies will not go as far as having you file with in the thirty day period you give them in the mgl93a letter cause if they do they are technically going to be out more money than they normally would if they had just reimbursed the amount owed they will have to pay a lawyer, in this case as netspend is in texas and california they will be paying a lawyer, his/hers airfare, hotel stay and all the amenities that come with that so at the end of the day they should want to just settle and as long as you live in massachusetts doesn't matter where the person/company that did you wrong is located it is still legit, if you don't live in massachusetts you can check online and see if your state you live in has something similar to this mgl here stands for massachusetts general law, so most states will most likely have something like this I imagine. Just be sure to stay away from netspend/meta-bank they are totally bad news for any person out there unless you don't mind losing monney every month I don't mind losing $3 for withdrawing my full amount basically off the card and the amount I mentioned is not my monthly pay it's certainly much more than $500 that was just an example I used as a for instance. Thank you for reading this article spread the word on this card/bank.
